We are looking for farmers to participate in a Defra future farming resilience pilot programme.

Farmers are facing a period of unprecedented change with the UK’s exit from the EU and the changes in support payments proposed in the new Agriculture Bill. To understand the best ways to support farmers through the transition period, Defra is funding pilot awareness-raising and advice services to help you better understand agricultural policy.

ADAS is running the pilot programme in the Shropshire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire areas. This will include webinars aimed at raising awareness of the changes to support payments, potentially followed by one-to-one advice from a consultant focusing on the individual needs of your farm business. One-to-one advisory sessions may be undertaken remotely depending on Government guidance relating to Covid-19.

There is no cost to farmers participating in the programme; however, you will need to complete surveys at the beginning and end of the process. These will be fed back anonymously to Defra who will use the results to shape future support services.

The webinars will be held on the following dates:

  • Tuesday 28th April: 11:30am – 12:30pm
  • Wednesday 6th May: 7.00pm to 8.00pm
  • Thursday 14th May: 11.30am to 12.30pm
