The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) 2024 is now open for applications until 17 April 2024. There are three grant types available under the Fund – improve productivity, manage slurry, or improve animal health and welfare.

Farmers can receive up to £50,000 per grant type, however this year, grants are highly competitive

The headline options for funding are listed below with examples, however please note that this is not an exhaustive list. Each item is scored based on their productivity benefit, environmental benefit and level of adoption by the industry.

  • Automatic calf feeder with washing facility £4,749 (Score: 510)

(Note: The FETF Animal Health and Welfare grant only covers beef cattle, dairy cattle, sheep, pigs, broiler chickens and laying chickens. No other livestock or poultry is eligible for funding.)

The RPA will pay either 50% or 60% towards either the average cost of the item or the percentage of the actual cost you paid. This is a change from previous rounds of FETF funding.

Funding will be allocated after all applications within each grant application window have been received and scored. The highest-scoring applications will be allocated funding first until all funding is fully allocated.
