Grower workshops

ADAS specialises in leading on-site training workshops across the horticulture sector. Working with the client, we can identify candidate sites or advertise workshop content through our extensive grower network. We can cover all aspects of workshop hosting to facilitate knowledge exchange. This may be for non-profit or government-funded work to promote dissemination of best practices such as for Tyfu Cymru , Farming Connect, and similar schemes for Defra.

Our experts also led longer-term demonstration sites, such as the AHDB Demonstration Farm in Scotland, to showcase current best practice for field vegetable production. Such workshops are orientated to maximise peer learning. By showing practical implementation in real-world settings, it can drive discussions and engagement.

Operational group formation

Through our extensive network of growers in the UK and beyond, we are able to create operational groups to fulfil a wide range of objectives. These could include participant engagement or results dissemination for research projects delivered through UKRI or EU-funded schemes.

For longer-term, multi-year projects, such groups encourage ongoing engagement and help translate cutting-edge research into commercial practice.

Technical notes and industry intelligence

We produce monthly technical notes covering fruit, field vegetables, bedding and pot plants and hardy nursery stock. These cover current local and national challenges, including up-to-date pesticide information.

We are also able to provide target industry intelligence reports to address client needs. These could include scoping exercises for opportunities and current themes in UK horticulture for supporting sectors wishing to develop their offering.
